Joy to the World Fun Card Folds *VIDEO*

Hello everyone,  I've got a couple of simple but effective card folds to share today.  I've used the new Joy to the World paper collection from Paper Rose Studio for these, but anything you have will work.

The first card fold was inspired by 2 videos that I saw from - Iced Images and Crafting with Quilling Lady.  It's a very easy card fold to make and could be used for any occasion.  Those little pens the animals are in could hold balloons, presents or a birthday cake for a birthday themed card, or Iced Images made it into a gingerbread house and Quilling Lady made a fall harvest card with crates.

The second card fold has a simple front cover but a fun inside pop up.  And again, it could be used for any occasion.

I've got all the details up in a video if you want to come join me there to see how these were made.  To watch the video PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Rainbow Village Birthday Cards - 2 From 1

Hello again everyone, I've got some really fun, colourful birthday cards to share today.

These cards are an easy 2 from 1 project.  I started with the top card, which is a 5 x 7" card.  I cut the 5 x 7" background from one of the quick card collection papers (they are 6 x 8"), and saved the scraps.  I also cut a piece of white cardstock to be 5 x 7", and glued the patterned paper to this. I then die cut the circular opening, centering the die closer to the top.  I was unable to get my 5 x 7" card base through my die cutting machine, so that's why I created a front for the card.  On my card base, I trimmed off the front, leaving a 1/2" flap to attach the new die cut card front.  Save the die cut circle though, as that will be the focal point for the second card.

I cut a larger circle from white cardstock and used the same smaller die to diecut the center opening.  I fussy cut some of the flowers and leaves from the cut aparts collection and added these around the center opening.  I die cut the "Bah!" sentiment three times from white cardstock, stacked and glued them together, and attached them to the front of the card.  The remaining sentiments for both cards were done on my computer and I fussy cut those out.

For the inside of the card, I cut a small piece of wire and used a hot glue gun to attach some of the embossed die cut birds that were a part of the Quick Card collection.  I added the die cut sentiment below the middle bird.  I then glued the birds and sentiment in place so that just the center bird would show through on the front.  I fussy cut out some clouds to cover the attachment of the wire ( I used double sided tape to adhere the wire to the card).   Finally, I added in some musical notes above the birds.

For the second card, I used a 5 1/2" square card base.  I centered the strip of cardstock that remained from the first card, and added some gold foil strips above and below it.  I added foam tape behind the leftover circle from the first card, and again, added some of the fussy cut floral images behind it.  I popped the embossed bird die cut up on foam tape also, and attached him in the center of the circle.  Finally, I added in the sentiments. On the inside, I also added a few more of the embossed die cut florals and a Happy Birthday sentiment.  I love how bright and colourful these images are!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I hope I've given you some ideas on how to use this collection.

Double the Fun! Double Slider Cards in 4" x 6". *VIDEO*

Hi everyone, I've got a video for you today showing how to make these double slider cards in a 4" x 6" format.  There are no special dies required for these, just a few score lines and cut lines.  But they are just so much fun to give and receive.  When they are opened up, the width becomes 15" wide so you have LOTS of room to add images and sentiments.  In fact, I had the hardest time photographing these and had to take pictures of both sides of the card, so you'll have to piece them together.

I hope you can see how these cards work, but basically, you pull the tabs on both sides of the card and the two side extensions come out.  So you have lots of room for hidden messages, pictures, or even a gift card.  If you would like to see how these cards are made, I hope you'll come join me at the video to see the process.   To watch the video, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Bojo Baby Cards

Hello again, I've got 3 baby cards that I have created with the Paper Rose Studio Bojo Baby collection.

I started all of these cards by die cutting 3 each of the largest arch in the Nesting Arches set from white cardstock.  I cut scraps of white cardstock to be 3" long by 1" wide, and scored these down the middle along the 1" edge at 1/2".  I folded these and burnished them, and then glued them to the back of one of the arches along one half of the scrap strip and then glued a second arch on the other half of the strip.   I then glued a second scrap strip to the other side of one of the arches making sure it was folded in the opposite direction, and then glued the third arch to the other half of the strip.  This gave me a trifold card.

I then die cut patterned paper using the second largest arch die 3 times for the front, and three times from white cardstock for the back.  I glued all of these in place.

For the small step, I used scraps of white cardstock, and scored them at 1/2", 1", 3", 3 1/2" and cut the strip at the 5 1/2" mark.  The height of this step can vary, depending on what image you are attaching to it.  For the baby carriage, my step was 1", but for the bear and train it was 3/4".  Once you've scored these, fold them all into mountain folds to make the rectangle and glue the small 1/2" tab to the other longer end. Next, apply glue to one of the longer rectangles and the small tab to the left of it.  This will attach to the bottom of the middle arched section and the arch to the left of it.  Be sure to butt the rectangle right into the fold line and make sure it is along the bottom edge of the card.

Finally, I decorated the cards adding the die cuts and sentiments.  When these cards are folded down, they measure 4 3/4" tall by 3" wide.  But opened up, they are 4 3/4" tall by 9" so there's lots of room for decorating!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you're having a great day!

Quick, Easy Cards Using Die Cut Images. *VIDEO*

Hello everyone, I've got a couple of card styles to share with you today and they both make great use of those beautiful die cuts that Paper Rose Studio releases.  However, they could also be any other images that you may have - rub-ons, toppers, images cut from dies etc..

Bojo Baby Photo Album. *VIDEO*

Hi everyone, I've got a completely different post for you today.  I've made a baby photo album which is definitely not my normal type of project.  However, I was inspired by the Bojo Baby paper collection from Paper Rose Studio,  and since my niece is expecting her first baby in November, I decided to give this a try.

This is a 9" x 7" album with a 3" spine.   Although I have used elements from all the paper collections noted above, it was really the Cut Aparts that inspired me.  I saw the month to month circles and thought they would make a great album for a new mother and baby.  Now if you don't like fussy cutting, Paper Rose does have the Boho Baby Basics Tags & Tickets Embossed Die Cuts 35122 which also have the monthly circles in them.  If you would like to see more of this album, I've created a video and would love for you to join me.  To see the video, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you're having a great day!

You HAVE to Try These! *VIDEO*

Hi everyone, and welcome!  I cannot tell you how much fun I've had creating these cards today, or how many times I've opened and closed them.  That might be a little embarrassing.  Also, although I've used Paper Rose Studio's new Christmas Tree Farm collection for these cards, keep in mind that they can be used for occasions throughout the year.  So have a look in your stash for anything that would suit these card styles and go from there.

Hopefully you can see that each of these cards has an interactive element inside the card which is what makes it so fun to open and close them. On the first card, the 3 squares pop up as you open the card.  The second card has the little animals rotate out from behind the center strip. The third card opens to both circles rotating around the center.

I have created a video showing how each of these were made.  It's a little longer than most of my videos, but I promise you will love these cards.  I have created PDF's with all the cutting and scoring information for you, and they are listed below the video. I really hope you will give one or more of these a try!  To watch the video, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Create Easy, but Highly Dimensional, Cards. *VIDEO*

Hello again, I've been playing with the Bees & Butterflies collection from Paper Rose Studio and have got 3 easy cards to share with you.  They all have loads of dimension, but are actually very easy to create.

So as you can see, all the cards have lots of dimension, but will all easily fold down into an envelope.  All the dimension comes from some simple card folding, so no special interactive dies are required for any of these cards.  I've created a video for you, so I hope you'll come join me over there to see how to make these.  To watch the video,  PLEASE CLICK HERE

Inside Pop UPs for the WOW Factor! *VIDEO*

Hello everyone, I have had so much fun creating cards for this post and video!  I absolutely love adding a surprise to my cards, and these cards have all got a surprise inside them.  It's such an easy way to bring an extra big smile to the card recipient's face.  Paper Rose Studio had asked me to create something with the Butterfly Gnome and Sewing Gnome die cuts, and the Pastel Patterns 1.0 papers, so those products are featured in all these cards.  But of course, use what you have in your stash for any of these cards.

There are 4 different styles of pop ups shown on this video, and none of them requires special dies.  They are all easy to create and I really hope you will give one or more of them a try!  I have a full product list below the video if you are interested.  To watch the video, PLEASE CLICK HERE.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Theatre Fold Card and More! *VIDEO*

Welcome back everyone, I've got a few cards to share today and one of them is a Theatre Fold style of card.  I've made these before and have other videos up on my YouTube channel, but I'm often asked to make more videos on this style of card fold.  So today, I've been playing with Paper Rose Studio's Poppy Garden collection and have come up with a few cards for you.

Paper Rose Studio Supplies: Poppy Garden 6x6 Paper Collection 34617Poppy Garden Basics 6x6 Paper Collection 34641 , Poppy Garden Embossed Die Cuts 34665Poppy Garden Basics Embossed Die Cuts 34677Wishing & Sending Sentiments 4x6" Clear Stamp Set 34395Wishing & Sending Sentiments Metal Cutting Die 34398

Aren't those papers beautiful?  I instantly fell in love with this collection and knew I would be ordering it.  The first card is a simple collage of a couple of the papers and I've just added a little dimension behind some of the elements.  The second card also has some dimension, but the paper was beautiful enough that I felt it didn't need much altering.  And the last two examples are both Theatre Fold styles of card which I explain how to make in the video.  They are always a fun card style though because you have an outside scene when the "curtains" are closed and a surprise scene inside that has quite a bit of depth to it.  I have a PDF in the description box below the video showing you how to create the Theatre Fold card.  I hope you will come join me HERE to watch the video.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you are having a happy, creative day!
