Simple Interactive Valentine's Card *VIDEO*

Hello again everyone!  Today, I've got a simple, interactive card for you. Now, it is a simple card to make, but if you come see the video, you will see that I struggled with the aesthetics of it and changed it up after I had recorded the video.  Here's what the final card looks like, but if you watch the video, you will see the acetate version.

Paper Rose Studio Supplies:  Hey Gnomie Embossed Die Cuts 30921, Alana Flower Metal Cutting Die 21078, Big Love You Metal Cutting Die 28855, Leaf Outline Die Metal Cutting Die 29620, Hand Stitching 2 Embossing Folder 20381.  Other supplies: Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish in Blossom and Green Dragon, Cosmic Shimmer Lustre Polish in Raspberry Sorbet.

Flowery Heart Card

Hello everyone!  Today I have a fairly simple card for you that could be used for Valentine's Day, for an anniversary or just a friend/family card.  

Supplies used: Rainbow Twirl F 12x12 Paper (12pc Bulk Pack) 30447 (I used papers F and D), Nesting Hearts Metal Cutting Die 28813, Little Foliage 1 Metal Cutting Die 21099 , Big Love You Metal Cutting Die 28855, 19499 Clear Crystal Mix

 

To create this card, I selected a section of the wreath on the Rainbow Twirl F paper and carefully cut out just enough to die cut with the largest of the heart nesting dies.  Believe me, I had to take a deep breath before cutting into that paper as it is so pretty and my tendency would be to hoard it! But I'm happy to say that I have a LOT of the wreath left over to make more cards with. 😄

After die cutting the heart out of the paper, I added some craft foam beneath it for extra dimension.  I die cut the leaves repeatedly from white cardstock until I had enough to surround the heart, and added them to the back of the heart with glue.  

From the Rainbow Twirl D paper, I cut  a section that was 5" x 6" for my card front.  I attached this to a card base I had created in the same dimensions.   

I cut the "YOU" sentiment three times and stacked them together with glue.  The "love" sentiment was cut once from white cardstock and once from a scrap of the Rainbow Twirl D paper, and I glued these together with the coloured paper on top. 

To assemble the card, I adhered the "YOU" sentiment at the bottom and glued the "love" sentiment over top of it.  Then I glued the heart above the sentiment at a slight angle.   I added a few of the clear crystal mix gems scattered over the top of the card.  Finally, I used my corner rounder to round the two right hand edges on the top and bottom to soften the look.

Valentine Shaker Card

Hello and welcome!  Today's card is an easy, non-traditional Valentine's Day card, or perhaps an anniversary card. 

Paper Rose supplies used:  Spring Floral Frame Metal Cutting Die 21054, Nesting Curved Rectangles Metal Cutting Die 25621, All Occasions Sentiments A5 12pc Sentiment Sheets 22339, Nature Stroll 3 Die Cuts 27898, 19499 Clear Crystal Mix and 18942 Gem Flakes Shaker Mix which I think is discontinued.  Other supplies: Cosmic Shimmer Colour Cloud inks in Baked Peach, Chic Magenta and Lemon Meringue, acetate. 

I started by doing some ink blending on the front of a white A2 sized card using the inks listed above.  Any inks that you have would work for this, or even patterned paper.

From an A2 sized card front, I die cut the Curved Rectangle, trying to be sure it was centered on my card.  I also die cut the Spring Floral Frame from another card front of the same A2 size.  I adhered the Spring Floral Frame behind the Curved Rectangle front piece, using glue, and just lining up the outside edges.  I placed double sided adhesive tape all around the curved rectangle opening, removed the backing and then adhered the acetate to the opening.  Next, I covered the back of this with two layers of foam tape, following the curved rectangle opening, and being sure to cover the entire back of the card front.  Before I removed the backing for the foam tape, I ran an anti-static powder tool around all the edges of the foam tape so the shaker mix wouldn't stick to it.

I added the shaker mix onto the front of the card, removed the backing on the foam tape and adhered it in place to the card front.  All that was left was to adhere the die cuts and sentiment in place and then give the card a good shake. : )  Those die cuts really make it easy!
